Current risk and damage assessment methods against seismic and climatic hazards including extreme weather events are inadequate in various technical dimensions.

We develop a high-tech solution for the real-time and continuous monitoring of the built environment (buildings, critical infrastructure involving renewable energy assets, energy transmission/distribution grids) for seismic/weather activity and the consequent structural damages. Extreme weather events and their cascading effects (storms, heavy precipitation, floods, and landslides), which affect the seismic vulnerability as well, are continuously monitored, and predicted for early warning. Advanced techniques including AI for the improved analysis of structural response (vibration, displacement, inclination, and weather/climate sensors) lead to improved assessment of risk, resilience, and damage. The solution provides early warning and situational awareness for improved mitigation, planning, renovation, and retrofitting of structures.
