    With an innovative industrial process capable of producing cooking oil out of beetle cultures at affordable prices, Biteback is tackling one of the worst plagues affecting Indonesia: palm oil overproduction. This insect bio-refinery startup based in Indonesia transforms organic material from agriculture waste stream into the feed to grow edible insect to be used to produce refined cooking oil and margarine as an alternative to palm oil. By having 37 times more yield than palm oil, Insect oil also contains healthy fatty acids including omega-3, unsaturated fats, and other essential nutrients.
