Startupbootcamp FinTech London Mentor
Covered the Central & Eastern Europe, Russia / CIS, Turkey Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) region from a Bond Syndicate / Debt Capital Markets perspective for 5 years at RBS in London. During this period, I was responsible for advising issuers in the region on the optimum capital structures / annual funding plans and for pitching to Issuers (both debut and existing) across the region (Sovereigns, Corporates and Financial Institutions). Responsibilities included advising / providing views on types of instruments, timing, tenors, currencies and optimal execution strategies. Also developed a very strong relationship with investors / issuers in the Emerging Market space during this period. In addition to this, I spent considerable time trying to explore the illiquid credit space in CEEMEA.
At Citibank in Pakistan, I spent 6 years (1999-2005) as a Credit Analyst / Relationship Manager covering clients in the Local Corporate Group (covering textile, chemicals and power) and Public Sector (oil and gas) side of the business. As a Credit Analyst, I was responsible for Credit, Industry and Financial Analysis and Financial Modeling / Projections. Prime responsibility as a RM was monitoring the loan portfolio and advising clients on Trade, Treasury and Cash Management products and Investment Banking solutions (Loan syndications and M&A)
In addition to these two experiences, I spent 1.5 years with Dubai Islamic Bank in Dubai (Islamic Structuring / Loan Syndications / DCM) and 1.5 years with Barclays Capital in London (Project Finance / Aviation Financing).
