A highly seasoned compliance professional and regulatory/anti-money laundering compliance specialist, with extensive experience in building, managing, and maintaining compliance programs for the financial services industry, Scott Benson has over 20 years of financial services industry experience with a concentration on BSA/AML, Sanctions and Regulatory Compliance.

Currently Scott acts as an Adviser to multiple privately held entities and startups in the eCommerce, FinTech, Payments Daily Fantasy Sports markets. Formerly, Scott was Director of Regulatory Compliance for Bitnet Technologies. A registered MSB and merchant payment processor focused on digital currencies, such as Bitcoin. At Bitnet, Scott addressed various compliance concerns including BSA/AML, Sanctions, Privacy, Consumer Protections and Anti Bribery and Corruption. Prior to Bitnet Scott integrated and supported Citigroup’s retail and institutional brokerage AML Operations function at its North America Hub in Tampa, FL. Scott is a former regulator (FINRA) and has served in various senior compliance roles at firms such as Merrill Lynch, RBC Wealth Management and Metlife.

Scott serves on the Board of Save the Voiceless, a charitable organization promoting canine rescue and advocacy and is also active with the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC). Scott attended Caldwell College, is a member of both the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and attained various securities industry designations via Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) including the Series 9, 10 and 24.
