Rui Bom

Expert in Startup Scale Up & Turn Around

Startupbootcamp Scale Osaka Mentor

Rui Bom has 16 years of international experience working for top multinational companies (managing $150MM+ brands for Unilever in Europe and China) and tech startups, both as a co-founder and an executive. Rui co-founded Portugal’s first social network in 2005 and later went on to build 30K, the world’s first frequent flyer computation technology.
For the past few years Rui has been working as a startup consultant (or ‘startup alchemist’ as he likes to put it), helping several startups scale up, with a strong focus on building and managing remote teams. After having lived in China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Germany and Portugal, Rui is now based in Japan with the mission of helping the Japanese startup ecosystem flourish. He’s also an advisor at Tokyo Tech Startups, one of Japan’s largest startup events in English language.
After mastering Mandarin Chinese Rui is now trying to add Japanese to his repertoire. He’s an amateur chef, a body hacker wannabe and a firm believe in making at least one new friend every day.
