Ricky’s core area of expertise is investment management, and he has handled large portfolios across interest rate, foreign exchange, equities & structured products. He is also a Board Member/early stage investor into sustainable real estate development (www.unidev.in), renewable energy (www.empereal.com & www.pavegen.com), financial services (www.tradingportfolio.net) & online news platforms (www.qbeats.com). Whilst at Standard Chartered Bank in the late nineties as their Treasury Chief Dealer, he was recognized as one of their Top Ten employees across Middle East & South Asia. Subsequently, he headed up internal tactical asset allocation for the Office of the Ruler of Dubai, which was followed by a stint at National Bank of Dubai where he was the Deputy Treasurer & Head of Investments. He has also been the CIO of a multi-billion dollar Family Office in Abu Dhabi. In his last corporate role, he was EVP & Chief Investment Officer of Al Hilal Bank (Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Fund owned), with group wide responsibility for investment banking as well as treasury functions. He was a signing member of the Investment, Credit, Risk & Audit Committees for the Bank.

Besides his MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur in 1991, Ricky has undergone extended executive programmes from Wharton (Pension Fund Management) & Harvard Business School (Real Estate Finance & Development) as well as the Financial Times Portfolio Academy (Portfolio Management). He topped the ‘Trading Manager’ exam conducted by DIFC, has secured the Licensed International Financial Analyst certification from USA & is a Member of the Professional Risk Managers Association.

Ricky has chaired & spoken extensively at international conferences, and prides himself on his ability to figure out where the world is headed and how that can be crystallised into meaningful returns. Having been in Dubai since 1996, he is very comfortable with multi-cultural professional interactions, and has visited over 60 countries.

What really drives him, however, is his passion for making a difference to the lives of others. He has been a part of the start-up team of international award winning charities which have focused on cognitive challenges, vocational training and education for destitute children and have collectively touched over 100,000 lives till now. He is also keen on devoting time in the public sector to facilitate global investments into impact investing & social infrastructure mandates.
