Ralph is a digital health enthusiast, an active angel investor, speaker, mentor and partnerships enabler. He gained his financial independence as one of the original founders of Simply Business (London) sold for US$ 490 million to The Travelers Companies.

Ralph is a trained healthcare banker and worked for investment banks in the US and Europe. He switched to the life sciences sector to head M&A for Hoechst / Aventis (today Sanofi) and later as Managing Director of Bayer Innovation to build a new ventures platform for the Bayer Group. He founded HealthCare // TransActions Advisors (and its predecessor firm TransAct Advisory Services) to provide M&A and partnering advice in the healthcare sector with a focus on the digitalization intersection. He is co-founder of the European Digital Health Day and the Partnership for Digital Health backed by Pfizer, J&J, Sanofi, Qiagen, Barmer, SAP and Egon Zehnder aimed to foster digital health collaboration initiatives. His angel investment portfolio includes Viomedo, CardioCube and Clue as examples in the digital health sector.

He helped initiate the Startupbootcamp Digital Health accelerator program in Berlin an is an active mentor to the participating teams.

He holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin -Madison. He lived in Germany, Brazil, USA, France, Portugal and UK for over 25 years. He is married to Heike a writer and journalist, they live in Berlin and Lisbon.
