Pinar has worked on a broad spectrum of innovative developments in financial services as a designer, founder, developer of products and businesses, a strategic investor on behalf of institutions and an operator responsible for servicing a large sophisticated group of clients. She is the managing director at Hupomone Labs and has been working on next generation financial infrastructure ideas as well as her academic interests. She is a founding member of the UK Digital Currency Association. She was also one of the founders of Mathmoneyf(x). Prior to this, Pinar was responsible for managing London Stock Exchange Group’s Business Development team (inc. sales & relationship management) for Group’s cash and derivatives markets. At ICAP, she was the managing director responsible for Business Development in Institutional Brokerage. She previously held a similar role at Liquidnet and prior to that was at Citigroup, where she was responsible for Business Development at Citi’s Electronic Trading business globally. Pinar was a founding board member of consortium platforms: Turquoise and BOAT and she served at governance/advisory boards of a number of marketplaces and industry associations such as FIX Protocol. Prior to moving to London, Pinar was Head of Strategy at Lava Trading (a successful NY-based fintech start-up), later a subsidiary of Citi, where she had responsibility for corporate, product and sales strategies. Pinar started her business career at financial services management consultancy, Oliver Wyman. Pinar holds a Ph.D and M.Sc. in Physics and a M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.
