Today big corporates across multiple sectors cannot hope to innovate purely by using their own people, processes, capabilities and competencies. Such is the pace of innovation, fuelled by technology advances, there is a constant demand for new skills and new ways of working. The marriage between corporates and start-ups has never been so important. I have worked in consulting for over 11 years, both as a Customer Management (CRM) and Change Consultant working across many different business sectors – helping clients adopt and implement leading edge ideas and solutions. More recently I have had a great ‘view from the bridge’ in the Insurance sector as a strategy lead in L&G and now AXA. Today Financial Services companies, particularly Long-Term Savings and Insurance businesses, need to find ways of re-establishing a more trusted and mutually beneficial relationship with its customer base. I know that this is where innovation is really needed in this industry – how to break down the traditional barriers and open up a more transparent, positive and fulfilling ongoing dialogue and experience?
