Karim is currently a consultant for the World Bank Group as Entrepreneurship Development Expert where he is consulting with the Kuwait National Fund. Karim Also works with several early stage startups on business development and fund raising strategies. He assists in growing their businesses by analyzing, developing and implementing customer acquisition, business development, and fundraising activities.
Karim has been involved in the finance and startup scene and has worked in several positions with relation to startup investments, training and operations. He is also well established in the startup scene and has attended and participated in several programs including the 500 Startups program in Silicon Valley. Karim helped invest in and grow more than 100 startups in the Middle East and North Africa and has helped raise more than USD 5M in funding for startups during his journey as Investment Manager at Oasis500, the leading startup accelerator in the MENA region.
Prior to jumping in on the startup scene, Karim accumulated 8 years of experience in different departments within the banking sector. Karim holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with concentrations in Finance, International Business, and Entrepreneurship from Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University (2005) and Management Certificate in Business Administration.
