Joanna is a Partner and the Chief Investment Officer of JRJ Group, a London-based private equity investment manager, specialising in the financial services industry. At JRJ, Joanna is responsible for directing the investment team’s research and target investment identification and assessment process. In addition, Joanna is closely involved in the development and monitoring of portfolio company strategy and execution. Joanna’s career has comprised roles in economic research, risk management, and company analysis.
Prior to joining JRJ Group, in late 2008, Joanna was employed by Lehman Brothers, which she joined in 2000. From May 2007, she worked as Head of Strategy for the Office of the CEO – Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Previous to that role, from 2000 – 2007, Joanna was a highly ranked financial services equity research analyst at Lehman Brothers, leading coverage of the European investment/universal banks, asset managers, inter-dealer brokers, private banks, and exchange operators. She began her career as an Economist at Bank of Montreal, in Toronto, Canada, and has held various other banking positions across risk management and asset/liability management.
Joanna holds BA (Hons) and MA degrees in Economics from Queen’s University, in Canada, and is also a CFA charterholder. She serves as a non-executive director of Marex Spectron, and Demica Ltd.
