Senior Director, Corporate Development at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota


Jeff Weness is the Senior Director of Corporate Relations for Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, one of the largest and most progressive pediatric healthcare institutions in the United States. He has extensive experience in the healthcare, consumer technology and retail industries. Weness helped create a world class pediatric trauma center through a partnership with UnitedHealthcare. He’s led a partnership with Worrell Design to redefine in-home care for children with chronic conditions. His work in architecting the first in-hospital Geek Squad precinct at Children’s won the 2011 “Patient Care Innovation of the Year” from the Minnesota Hospital Association.

Prior to joining Children’s, Weness spent eight years in strategy and development at Best Buy. He tested an “electronics dollar store” concept with SuperValu, reinvented consumer credit models with Flexi Compras, and showed Chicago the latest in Japanese gadgets through his work with Dynamism. Jeff’s work resulted in awards, such as “Hispanic Retailer of the Year” and “Chicago’s Best Consumer Electronics Store”.

Weness earned an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and a B.A. in Russian, Business and International Relations from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He studied, lived and worked in Russia at various times from 1991 to 1995.
