Jason Lau works as Entrepreneurship and New Ventures Manager at the Koç University Incubation Center.
As part of the Incubation Center, Jason provides guidance for students with business ideas and mentors student, academic and alumni technology-based startups. To develop a general culture of entrepreneurship on campus, he works closely with student clubs and other university departments to plan events, guest speakers, etc. Also, Jason is charged with developing joint programs with industry partners to provide additional opportunities in the area of corporate and social entrepreneurship.
Jason is also active in the local social entrepreneurship community, mentoring several social enterprises and helping manage Turkey’s first accelerator program aimed at social entrepreneurs, Social Change Labs.
Before moving to Koç University he served as the Entrepreneurship Supervisor in the Center for Entrepreneurship & the Startup Factory, while also serving as an instructor in the Business Faculty at Özyegin University. As part of the Startup Factory, Jason developed all the academic content for the accelerator while providing hands-on training and mentoring to tech-based, social and corporate entrepreneurs on issues of business models, customer development and key metric tracking. Jason taught several business courses on campus, including Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship.
Jason holds an MBA from Bilkent University (2008) and a B.S. in International Business from the University of Southern California (2003).
