Gijsbert is a creative entrepreneur and crowdfunding addict. Gijsbert started his first company when Apple launched the iPhone; for only $99 you could start selling to consumers worldwide. He found out the hard way that funding from a bank or one investor could be hard to attain, even if (potential) users were interested. Hacking the system, by getting money directly from consumers to fund a product, seemed to be an interesting alternative.
Gijsbert co-founded the leading Dutch investment based crowdfunding platform CrowdAboutNow. Since he sold his stake 2.5 years ago, he is promoting crowdfunding and advising startups and other organizations on using crowdfunding.
