Gerhard Sogl is content manager at CFA UK where he researches topics related to the investment community, contacts relevant speakers and arranges for them to present at conferences or single speaker events.

He started his career at Credit Lyonnais (BFB) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After a brief period in the family business (process machinery), he returned to banking at Banco SRL (later Amercian Express Bank). There Gerhard ran the bank’s FX business (spot, forward, future, spot, export notes and options). He the moved on to Deutsche Bank, first in Sao Paulo, where he ran the FX and fixed income business and later in New York where he ran Latin local markets trading. Gerhard returned to Brazil where he partnered in two start-ups: a publishing company and a food&beverages company. Before moving to the UK Gerhard spent a short while as a consultant in a preparatory school for the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation.

Gerhard holds a BSc in production engineering at Escola Politecnica, University of Sao Paulo and a Diploma in financial strategy from Said Business School, University of Oxford. He holds CFA, CAIA and PRM qualifications.
