Ferhan Cook’s digital and business career spans over 25 years of international business experience in technology marketing, international business development, creative event design and marketing, content publishing, and international content licensing and negotiations.
Ferhan recently co-founded m-Spark.org, as a virtual Accelerator and a web platform for social business start-ups. m-Spark’s international advisors and supporters include, Ashoka Global and Turkey, The GSM Association Development Group, Nokia Asia, Orange France.
Ferhan Cook worked 11 years for Apple as head of multimedia in California and in Paris between 1983 and 1994, launching Apple’s groundbreaking innovative technologies around the world during 80′s and 90′s.
She left Apple in 1994 to establish her digital agency Any Screen, where she made many successful content licensing deals for digital publishers and game developers.
From 2000 and 2011, Cook also created and helped grow the digital conferences of MIPTV and MIPCOM Television and Interactive Content markets in Cannes, As a savvy events designer/creator/marketer she organised `the first Mobile TV Awards between 2003 and 2008, served as the Program Director of a Creative Festival called PICNIC in Amsterdam in 200. She was the host and curator of the TEDxSilkRoad conference which she organised in Istanbul, in April 2012.
Ferhan also served on various industry juries such as the International Interactive Emmys, Korean GMCA awards, a MIPCOM Mobile TV Awards and the Content 360 Cross Media Festival at MIPCOM and MIPTV.
In addition to building the m-Spark accelerator, Cook is currently an active member of the Galata Business Angels investment group in Istanbul, she is an Ashoka “Co-Creator”, member of Turkish WIN association, and a mentor with the Social Change Labs at Özye?in University, and a Jury member within Intel’s latest Social Business Platform in Turkey. Ferhan divides her time between London and Istanbul.
