After the PhD in Plant Biology and Crop Production, Bianca worked for an Italian NGO, where she was responsible for the development of sectoral policies on food security, disaster risk reduction and gender.

She then conducted different assignments as a consultant for various research bodies in Lebanon, Ghana and Bolivia. Her activity has been mostly focused on producing policy-oriented studies based on the analysis and evaluation of practices being implemented by project stakeholders.

More recently, she has been collaborating with the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation as a Research Fellow, taking part in the drafting of the Milan Charter by both contributing to the sections on food security and nutrition and coordinating the international network of experts involved in the elaboration process.

Her research interests now cover rural development, climate-smart agriculture, natural resource management and environmental justice going far beyond the academic arena.
