Ahmet K. Suerdem is a Full time Professor at Istanbul Bilgi University-Business Dept. and Senior Academic visitor at the LSE. After graduating Bogazici University-Economics Dept., he has received his doctorate from Paris 8 University. He was a European Council Post-Doc fellow at Paris 5, Social Anthropology dept. and Visiting Research Fellow at the UCLA and UCI, Marketing departments. His current research interests include data mining, building social research into industrial design, bridging qualitative and qualitative methods for text analysis. More specifically, he works on text mining and integrating network analysis for detecting meaning patterns in textual and visual data.
He is also part time teaching at the LSE social network analysis in PhD. Workshop in Advanced Quantitative Methods seminars and Provalis and UCInet modules in Workshop in Applied Analysis Software. He is currently principal investigator in “Online job-matching platform for overqualified but disadvantaged people”project funded by JPI-Urban Europe and TUBITAK; “Science in the media monitoring” project funded by TUBITAK 1001, and “Science in the media barometer” project funded by the British Council knowledge partnership He is also involved in the Mapping the Cultural Authority of Science EU-India project directed by Martin Bauer-LSE. He also acts as a researcher-consultant for desiging well being and attitudes towards science and technology surveys.
