The program targets startups and scale-ups that harness the latest technologies and innovative business models to offer solutions for the creation, distribution, and consumption of content.
Amsterdam, 21 May 2019 – Startupbootcamp, the leading global accelerator for startups and scale-ups, is proud to announce the launch of its media-focused accelerator program. The first program of this three-year initiative will be run out of Startupbootcamp’s Amsterdam office, with a focus on startups that are impacting the future of the media industry.
According to the CB Insights’ State of Innovation 2018 report, Media and Entertainment is the top industry at risk of disruption, and more focus is required to accelerate corporate-startup-collaboration. As a part of the first cohort, 10 international startups will, therefore, be participating in the program, which starts on the 19th of August and ends on the 14th of November 2019. Together with experts from all over the world, Startupbootcamp will grow these young and ambitious companies through its extensive network of corporate partners, mentors, investors, media and marketing channels.
Innovation within established companies often focuses on supporting the bottom-line and optimizing existing processes. In contrast to this, startups and scale-ups work with the latest technologies on the business models and user experiences of the future. Startupbootcamp focuses entirely on accelerating the collaboration between incumbents in the media industry and high-potential startups and scale-ups with a media focus. This process is fuelled by its proven accelerator programs and a Proof of Concept (POC) sprint methodology.
‘Media industry’ in this sense is defined broadly where the vision of Startupbootcamp is that nowadays every company is a media company. Red Bull, for example, is obviously a producer of energy drinks but actually operates as a media company.
