With just under a week left of the this year’s smart energy startup cohort, the startups are hard at work preparing for Demo Day. The teams cover various key themes, such as integrating renewables, utilizing blockchain & AI, and customer empowerment. Next Thursday, 11 startups in the EA19 cohort will be pitching to a room full of industry experts, investors, partners, and guests as the culmination of the accelerator program.
Over the past three months, our startups have been refining their businesses with workshops, advice from mentors and industry professionals, and connecting with the Melbourne network in preparation for Demo Day. Here’s what to expect on the big day…
ZINC at Federation Square will be filled with over 400 individuals who will have the chance to hear the startups pitch and visit personalised booths to engage in depth with the teams. Our guests will also have the pleasure to view some incredible guest speakers, such as Kirsty Miller Head of Partnerships from DiUS, Peter Tompkins CEO of Spotless, Catherine Tanna CEO of EnergyAustralia, Audrey Zimmerman CEO of AMEO, and Councillor Philip Le Liu. The topics from the speakers will range from the benefit of corporate partnerships and startups as they drive industry change, to the energy market in transition.
Demo Day will have some of the most influential people in the energy space all in one room as our innovative startups showcase their creative solutions and alternatives to the current industry status quo. We are so excited for our teams to present their hard work to the world and jumpstart the next phase of their businesses.
While the anticipation of Demo Day is incredible, we are just as excited to see what the startups achieve post-program as they implement what they’ve learned with the key stakeholders they’ve met along the way. Stay tuned for more updates to come as our cohort charges towards disrupting the energy space!
