In 2016, Startupbootcamp selected startups for our programs on 3 continents. With the investment teams from 14 programs scouring the globe for the best startups around to accelerate, we have a bird’s eye view on startup ecosystem support.
We compiled an analysis from thousands of applications received by our accelerators, as well as data on VCs, universities, and other types of organizations that support entrepreneurship. We’ve created this analysis to better understand the startup hubs that exist across the world and the teams that apply to our programs.
Quick highlights and takeaways:
We generated a list of the Top 25 Countries for Startup Support, using ranking factors such as the number of coworking spaces, top engineering schools, VCs, successful exits, funding rounds raised, and a variety of others.
We’ve disclosed average statistics on the teams we accelerate through our programs to give an idea of the attributes of teams we seek out of our programs.
We’ve tabulated and categorized the business models and stages of teams who apply to and are accepted to out programs to give a better idea of what types of startups work with most frequently.
We hope that the report provides startups an insight into what we look for when we select teams. By combining our own internal data that we generate across programs with external data, we can draw stronger conclusions. This helps guide the startup ecosystems we look to in order to find startups. To that end, we’d like to thank our friends at CrunchBase, RELAYTO, and Keboola for making this report possible. We hope it can bring some transparency to the investment industry, and help entrepreneurs on the path to success.
