At Startupbootcamp IoT we’re excited to announce the launch of a free event series for hardware entrepreneurs called the Hardware Hour; a breakfast meetup in which Raph Crouan, MD of Startupbootcamp IoT, runs an informal Q&A with a prominent founder who is in the process of growing their hardware startup. Our aim for these one-hour events is to have entrepreneurs share their real-time progress in a way that distills some of the myths around creating a hardware business and helps the next wave of startups get to market quicker.
Taking place on the final Wednesday of every month at IDEALondon, our first Hardware Hour on July 26th will see Emily Brooke MBE share her learnings from building Blaze, the company behind the green Laserlight you see projecting from Santander bikes in London at night. We also have Bethany Koby from Technology Will Save Us and Soumyadip Rakshit from Mystery Vibe confirmed as speakers later this summer.
The reason for this new series of events is simple: there are a number of great events in London to help educate founders and entrepreneurs about scaling a startup. However, most of these are based on the experiences of software startups and not enough cater to an audience of hardware entrepreneurs looking for, closing, or using their Seed round. There is a strong hardware ecosystem here in the UK and we want to do more to shine a spotlight on it and help it grow.
Attendees will hear from a range of founders on what’s worked well (and what hasn’t) in building their hardware startup, and will be able meet other entrepreneurs going through similar experiences, comparing notes and getting advice on what to do next.
You can register for a place at the first Hardware Hour through Eventbrite HERE. Breakfast is provided from 8.15am, with a 25-minute Q&A beginning promptly at 8.30. Questions from the audience are then taken with the event closing at 9.15am. Hope to see you there!
