Startupbootcamp Smart City & Living Announces Partnership with Schiphol Group

Amsterdam, 11 April 2016 – Growth Accelerator Startupbootcamp and the Schiphol Group start a close collaboration. For the upcoming three years, Schiphol will support the eleven selected startups at the Smart City & Living program. This years edition of the program kicks off today. The Schiphol Group expects to learn a lot from the young companies as part of its ambition to become the best digital airport in the world.

Each year, a group of 10 companies is selected to participate in the competitive Smart City & Living Program in Amsterdam. This edition,eleven startups are part of the acceleration process that starts today. Over the next three years, the participating teams will receive coaching from dedicated mentors from the Schiphol Group. There is a lot to be gained for the startups, as they can learn from the knowledge of the Schiphol mentors on smart logistics and energy flows. The infrastructure in and around the airport is very extensive and crucial for the functioning of the organization.

The cooperation is also important for the Schiphol Group. Startups are known for their innovation capacity and speed. Schiphol can learn from them, said Robert Lenterman, Director Treasury & Risk Management at the Schiphol Group: “Schiphol aims to be the best digital airport in the world. To achieve this, we want to learn as much as we can from the knowledge and skills of innovators in the world around us. Startupbootcamp has a good reputation and is able to select startups that will be successful in the long term.
