Here at Startupbootcamp we believe in creating a family of world class accelerators that support each other to provide incredible entrepreneurs with immense value.
Making 170 investments since 2010 has allowed us to peer into the future of innovation. We leverage these insights to create accelerator programs in emerging industries, acting as the launchpad for entrepreneurs pursuing leading edge technology.
In Amsterdam we devoted a full program to NFC and Contactless technology startups, Eindhoven has seen it’s first high tech class with technology such as biomolecule detectors and mobile optimized graphics chips. Berlin now focuses on smart transport and energy, while London views the financial industry as ripe for disruption.
Today I’m excited to announce the newest addition to the Startupbootcamp family – pursuing an industry that is set to dramatically impact each of our lives in the coming years:
Barcelona’s startup ecosystem has seen tremendous growth over the last few years. I’ve witnessed this first hand starting in early 2013 when Startupbootcamp held a pitch day in the city. Over 50 mentors engaged with the 10 pitching startups, and led to a great dinner with many of Barcelona’s leading technology evangelists.
Out of that same dinner group came the partners who will now join Startupbootcamp. Entrepreneur and venture capitalist Angel Garcia is leading the charge as Managing Director and joined by serial entrepreneur Marcos Cuevas as Program Director. Ecosystem builder and founder of leading innovation consultancy Aldo de Jong is also a cofounder. Quite a line up!
The Startupbootcamp IoT & Data team will leverage their years of hardware and software expertise to support startups targeting the explosion of connected devices and the associated data they produce. By 2025 there will be an estimated 25 billion connected devices, with disruptive startups surely leading the way – and we’ll be here to support their growth.
In addition to an amazing core team, Startupbootcamp IoT & Data offers an unbelievable location surrounded by thousands of technology companies at the Media-TIC building in the center of Barcelona’s hightech hub. Did I mention the great weather and beaches?
Any one last thing…
As if a world-class program team leveraging their years of connected devices and data experience in the heart of a global technology hub wasn’t enough, startups invited to the Startupbootcamp IoT & Data program will have a chance to pitch on stage during the Mobile World Congress at the startup-focused 4YFN event in front of thousands of leading technology thought leaders and investors.
Applications are now open. Angel, Marcos and the team have already set many pitch days and conferences where startups will be able to meet them face-to-face. Please share this post with all the great IoT and data startups you know, and if you happen to be running an IoT and data startup – we’d love to hear from you!
