“Amsterdam has a long and enviable track record of building world-class E- & Mcommerce businesses such as Booking.com,” argues de Groot. “This means we have some of the world’s most experienced and successful Ecommerce entrepreneurs on our doorstep. It therefore makes perfect sense to leverage this community for the benefit of the next generation of startup founders in the space.”
Startupbootcamp Global Co-Founder Patrick de Zeeuw will be working alongside Jonas the Groot for the first program to accelerate the 10 selected startups.
Six months ago, de Zeeuw started exploring the potential for an E- and Mcommerce focused program following the success of Startupbootcamp NFC & Contactless program in 2013.
De Zeeuw said: “The vertical focus of this program was very strong. We had great startups in the program that were not only accelerated by us, our mentors and partners, but accelerated each other.
“By bringing top industry expertise to the Startupbootcamp HQ in Amsterdam, our goal is to hunt down the most promising E- & Mcommerce startups across the globe and select the 10 participants from 500+ applications.”
Startupbootcamp Amsterdam has attracted an impressive roster of partners including Rabobank, Sundio Group, International Card Services, Vodafone, Certa Legal, and PWC.
Rabobank’s Michael Dooijes, Executive Director, Head of Strategy & Innovation at Rabobank Nederland Bedrijven:
“To drive innovation in our business it’s important to be connected to the most promising startup communities and be part of their eco-system. Technology is an important driver for change in various industries, including the financial industry. Startupbootcamp E- and Mcommerce provides us that access. Mobile commerce is the future of transactions and offers opportunities for a new and deeper customer relationship. Through our collaboration with Startupbootcamp, we gain access to technologies and interesting new business models that can provide added value for our customers active in the commerce space and our consumer clients. In fact, we recently signed a number of collaborations with alumni startups of Startupbootcamp. Another point that we value is the fresh ideas, the positive energy and inspiration we receive from all the young minds hosted in the program. Therefore, we are excited to be part of the upcoming E- & Mcommerce Startupbootcamp in Amsterdam.”
Our Startupbootcamp team, mentors and partners can’t wait to hear all the innovative ideas in areas such as Ad & Marketing Tech, Mobile 1st, payment solutions, Omni Channel, marketing, E- & Mcommerce platforms, logistics, data & CRM, commerce solutions, social shopping and security.
