Startupbootcamp Amsterdam 2014 Kick-off!

03-Apr-2014 by MarcWesselink

Last Monday the 11 teams of the Startupbootcamp Class of 2014 found themselves waking up in the bustling heart of the Netherlands, ready to kick-off an intensive 3-month program. Whilst many teams had to leave behind their homes, friends and families, all teams were energized, enthusiastic and ready to get accelerated. The SBC A’dam HQ is now full with over 50 colorful personalities, and we have absolute faith that all of them will do an amazing job! The people behind the idea are what makes a startup stand out; they are at the heart of the startup, and it’s therefore that the formation of the team is the main criteria we judge our startups on during the applications process.

The pressure was definitely on in the introduction week, with co-founder and CEO Patrick de Zeeuw reminding everyone during his introduction speech that it’s only 83 stressful, sleep-deprived, but also energetic and ultimately fulfilling days before the Startupbootcamp Amsterdam Demo Day! It’s going to be tough, but the teams are ready and excited to get their acceleration going and we do not doubt that in less than three months 11 amazing teams will blow us away with their progress and achievements.

As part of our introduction week, Kees van Nunen, also known as our LEAN Jesus, made sure the teams will live, breathe and dream about LEAN over the upcoming months. You can check out our previous blog, with all there is to know about LEAN methodology here.

Our sponsor Business Models Inc. organized two jam-packed days of workshops going in depth into:

– Business model canvas
– Cover story visions
– Value propositions canvas
– Content analyses.

Business Models Inc. had the startups look into their own businesses through a magnifying glass, take them apart, and put them back together. You can view our previous blog, with all Business Model Inc’s tips and tricks here. A huge thanks to Roland Wijnen and Maaike Doyer from Business Models Inc, and to Kees van Nunen for giving these intense and insightful workshops.

Good luck teams, and remember: never give up!
