Meet Startupbootcamp Amsterdam's New Mentors: Part 1

Startupbootcamp Amsterdam is first and foremost a mentor-driven program, an ecosystem of world-class mentors, people that are highly experienced, skilled and charismatic and always eager to provide valuable advice for the startups to help them scale up and succeed.

So, just one day before applications for Startupbootcamp 2014 close and the 10 hot startups that will accelerate in Amsterdam are selected, we are proud to introduce to you the first 10 new mentors joining the program! Check them out and soon more to follow:

Leslie Hogeveen is a marketer with experience in both the car industry and the financial industry. He has a proven track record in growing market share and becoming the market leader with limited budget. He is inventive in finding ways to create visibility in the market. He joined Startupbootcamp to help startups increase their impact fast.

Roland van den Berg (MSc in economics) has worked at Unilever in various management positions in finance, marketing and sales and after that pursued his career in strategy consulting at OC&C Strategy Consultants as an Associate Director. He started working for Jumbo Supermarkten in 2011 and is in his current position Directeur E-commerce responsible for developing, launching and managing Jumbo’s online channel.

Maarten Alleman is founder of about:blank, a medium sized web development company that mainly focuses on the travel industry. Maarten has the ability to see the technical solutions that help companies to their full potential. In the last 5 years, Maarten has been working on several successful startups, both in e-commerce and the airline industry.

Jeroen Kok is Manager of Value Added Services and mCommerce at Vodafone. He has a broad expertise in telecoms and especially in the area of Consumer Services and B2B2C partnerships and has been working for Vodafone since 2007, before Vodafone Jeroen worked in Strategic Product Management and Solution Management for Ericsson.

Ton Wesseling is a well known conversion rate optimizer. Guiding the Dutch analytics & optimization scene to better results and sharing his knowledge throughout the globe. Ton is the founder of consultancy firm Online Dialogue. Lean & persuasion knowledge is what differs them from the crowd. Ton knows how to transform a promising start-up with lousy online marketing to a digital money making machine. He would love to add this knowledge to start-ups he believes and can invest in.

Carlos Calvalho is Innovation and Marketing Manager at Vodafone. Carlos has been marketing and driving the development of new products in Mobile, Internet and Technology industries for over 12 years. A firm believer in the cleansing power of failure, Carlos will be engaged by projects that will intersect Mobile, Internet, Innovation and Creativity.

Jeroen van Brussel is Head of Sales at Tele2 Nederland. He has a strong and successful track record in the Telecom and IT industry focussing on starting up, managing new business activities and transforming strategies and businesses. He is holding a relevant and significant C-level network within the Enterprise Market Globally (Fortune 500). In all the companies he has worked for he has achieved the objectives set, mainly expressed in growth of revenue, growth of profit and managing running costs.

Roel Steenbergen is Innovation Manager at Rabobank Nederland Group IT, working on projects (POC) with biometric authentication, complementary currencies and social business. He has previously worked as Product Manager Unified Communication systems at Rabobank Group IT, consultant and project manager. Educated as a teacher, he likes to tell the story about trends and innovation, bringing the outside world in.

Jan-Hein Auf dem Brinke is a Chartered Accountant and works for KPMG where he provides audit and advisory services to venture capital/PE companies and banks. He has broad experience with nearly all aspects of finance ranging from strategic funding to day-to-day cashmanagement.

Lauren Valbert is an entrepreneur, and her company, Empowering Management, is an entrepreneurial consultancy helping startups transform from subject matter experts to customer-ready organizations. Customer centrism is the philosophy behind the company’s focus: she helps companies attract, retain, and motivate the customers that will make their business successful and profitable. She enjoys working with startups, because startups are where the future is happening now.
