At the end of the first week of Startupbootcamp Amsterdam, the startups had an opening session about legal advice and taxes.

VMW Taxand has been one of the Startupbootcamp Amsterdam partners since the 2012 program. They offer special help in relation to Dutch taxes and laws. On this note, VMW is very knowledgeable on the startups realm, always ready to help out with any legal issues which may come up.

One member of their team will be present at the Startupbootcamp Headquarters and will advise the startups on a weekly basis, focusing on common issues which startups and companies, in general, have. Some examples would be short and long stay of the startup on Netherlands; different law scopes on different countries; finance and capitalization; change of shareholders; merges and acquisitions; IP protection laws and licensing taxes; copyright laws; employment law and immigration law.

After lunch, we had an amazing and inspiring workshop session from Sonja Rauschütz from Vienna School of Negotiation about how to negotiate. Sonja introduced the teams to the Process Communication Model (PCM) and the 7 elements of negotiation. Since startups are always in the process of negotiation with investors, clients or partners, it is essential for them to understand concepts such as the need to research before negotiation; how to negotiate with different profile of people; building trust; which talents a negotiator needs.
