Steve Blank at SBC Demo Day 2012

As we support arising startups, Startupbootcamp also receives a lot of support from world-class entrepreneurs and mentors spread all over the world. One of them is Steve Blank, who gave a stunning presentation at our Demo Day of Startupbootcamp Amsterdam Class’12.

For those who don’t know who Steve Blankis a short introduction: Steve Blank is a Silicon Valley-based serial entrepreneur, who has successfully founded or co-founded 8 high-tech companies such as: SuperMac Technologies or Rocket Science Games. Furthermore he is currently teaching Entrepreneurship at top-ranked US – universities: Among others at the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and Stanford University Graduate School of Engineering.

Additionally he is a well-known author. His latest publication is: “The Startup Owner’s Manual”. Some of his topics from the book, he also picked up in his presentation. Showing us in detail why classical corporate management & investing styles are not applicable to the startup world (search vs. execute) and how you can shape your product in a way your customers are going to love it.

After listening to his presentation, the audience could conclude one thing: There is a strategy to successfully found a business, which is neither dependent on luck nor on other people’s good will and by applying at Startupbootcamp you are heading to achieve this goal. Or as Steve Blank said it:

“What Startupbootcamp has put together here – and the investment

community has supported – is just world-class – spectacular!

It’s as good as everything I have seen!”

Steve Blank at Demo Day 2012For all of us this was great feedback, knowing that we are on track and more importantly knowing that our startups are being recognized and appreciated in a way they deserve it. I wanted to share this with you because I want you to know, that in case you consider to apply for Startupbootcamp Amsterdam Class’13 (or any of our other great programs in Dublin, Israel, Copenhagen or Berlin) you are aiming for an accelerator, which is worldwide known and recognized and also aims to get better every day by working together with people like Steve.

Due to this we can provide you with a nurturing breeding environment for your startup. Still – we also want to know what we can do better and what you are looking for in an accelerator program. So in case you are having any feedback or questions, then let me know via amsterdam@startupbootcamp.org. My team and I are also always happy to help you with questions considering the upcoming Open Pitch Day at the 19th of November or for your applications for Startupbootcamp 2013 (applications open from November 1st).

Best, Patrick
