Startupbootcamp Introduces First Advisory Board Member, Esther Dyson
Since the beginning of 2010, Startupbootcamp has grown tremendously with the overwhelming support from the European startup community. We have expanded the program to include Copenhagen, Dublin, Amsterdam and now Berlin – and all this is made possible by the strong teams and people behind each city. Today, we are pleased to announce that Esther Dyson will join our Advisory Board. Esther Dyson is an angel investor with an investment history including Flickr and del.icio.us, both sold to Yahoo!; Medstory and Powerset, both sold to Microsoft. She currently sits on the boards of several startups including 23andMe, Evernote, Voxiva and Yandex. Esther will be the first advisory board member for Startupbootcamp; we are looking forward to benefit from her expertise and network in Russia and India, as well as the health sector, to help with Startupbootcamp’s expansion plans for the coming years!
Why Esther will be Joining Startupbootcamp?
“In the US and Europe there are plenty of entrepreneurs and also decent access to funding. The challenge is to scale these companies once they are beyond the early stage. One of the features that enticed me to tie up with Startupbootcamp is the way it leverages large companies — not for their money but for their expertise, whether as sales channels, customers or just experienced people who can run a sales meeting or telephone a senior-level counterpart in some other large company.”
