Over the weekend, the Startupbootcamp Berlin team made an executive decision to pause the Wildcard Competition that allowed startups to “boost their applications with social votes” and win a spot into the Top 20 finals. The general consensus from the community was that in the interests of their startups, many of the teams were not ready to reveal their ideas/products.
In respecting that decision and to level the playing field, the Wildcard Competition will now only be made available for the selected group of finalists to win the “21st” spot for the Selection Event finals in July; where members from each team will be invited to travel to Berlin, to meet and pitch to a jury of mentors and judges and be selected as one of the 10 startups for the Berlin chapter of the Startupbootcamp program starting in September. This way, we believe all applicants will have the same amount of chances into the program and can focus on creating the best application for the program regardless of other initiatives.
We thank all the teams that have currently signed up for the Wildcard Competition and those teams will be notified of the change immediately. If there are any questions or concerns about this change, please feel free to contact us directly at email@example.com.
We look forward to reading all of your applications!
