As the first insurance global accelerator, Startupbootcamp InsurTech focuses on disruptive and collaborative insurance innovation. We support the most promising start-ups and help propel their growth by providing them with valuable resources, including funding, mentorship, office space, and an extensive network of insurers, angel investors, and VCs.
Through that mechanism, Startupbootcamp InsurTech also enables the insurance market to collaborate with innovative ventures to deliver new sources of value.
The Market Problem We Solve
The global insurance market has entered a period of unprecedented change. The world’s largest corporations, which have experienced decades of market leadership, are finding themselves constrained by their large size, stifled by their siloed cultures, and unable to adapt to a rapidly-changing landscape. Consequently, most insurance providers are unable to keep up with new customer demands and digital technology.
Entrepreneurs see these weaknesses in the insurer’s value chain. The majority of today’s new market entrants are initiating change through disruptive or collaborative technologies. They are designing products, services, and process offerings that improve interactions with end customers.
What We Deliver
The program is located in the City of London, near London’s Square Mile – the heart of the powerful financial district, and it is led by Sabine VanderLinden. Sabine brings over 18 years of experience working with insurers and tech companies in market positioning roles. Sabine and her team focus their efforts on helping the start-ups refine their offerings to meet the needs of the partners and investment community.
Startupbootcamp InsurTech’s three-month acceleration program guides companies through the Shape, Build, and Sell stages of development, through hands-on sessions with mentors and industry experts and masterclasses on topics from lean to legals. Our program enables the startups to collaborate with an ecosystem of market experts and to engage and design unique propositions that meet the needs of and provide solutions for the insurance market.

We are proud to welcome some major global brands as our partners: Admiral, Allianz, ERGO/ Munich Re, Intesa SanPaolo, Lloyds Banking Group/ Scottish Widows, LV=, MJ Hudson, Momentum, PwC, Route66 Ventures, Swiss Re, Tryg, The Innovation Group and UnipolSai. These partners allow the program to provide the expertise, market exposure, integration as well as the access to a network of company professionals that most early-stage insurance start-ups would not be able to access otherwise.
After three months of acceleration, the ten teams are invited to present their companies to 300+ investors, mentors, partners, and the press during Demo Day. All startups are given invaluable pitch training and support from industry experts in the lead-up to the day.
Startupbootcamp InsurTech alumni are actively supported long after they leave the accelerator. We continue to create opportunities for alumni to speak at insurance-related events and expose them to a growing network of industry experts, mentors, investors, and startups.
