This year's Startupbootcamp Finalists had clear reasons for choosing the spring Startup accelerator program in Amsterdam.

Tiffany Hart is CEO of Australian startup 7write:

"We're moving 16620 km from Canberra to Amsterdam for several great reasons. Although our two countries have similar sized populations, our research shows that take-up of technology is much faster in this part of Western Europe. And Holland has always had a very high percentage of self publishers. So it's a great place to test things out!"

David Arnoux Co-founder of Twoodo:

"Now that we're in, we're not waiting until April 2013. We've already received high-quality advice from the local mentors to help us prepare a month before the program starts. We need to launch a beta product much earlier and focus on a narrower niche market first. These are extremely important decisions which will help us get the most out of the program."

Dmirty Hrytsenko, Co-founder of Presentain:

"We know what challenge we're solving for professional speakers and performers the world over. We've built brilliant code. Now it's time to build a world-class company. It's going to be intensive. But we're fully committed and really looking forward to the challenge. Check out our progress at Demo Day in June!"

Luca Botticelli Founder & CEO, Aliveshoes:

"We're from the part of Italy with the world's highest concentration of shoe designers and manufacturers, often called "Shoe Valley". We applied for other accelerators, and we even got accepted. But when we took a closer look, we make a conscious decision to select Startupbootcamp Amsterdam. We believe that the mentors here have the corporate knowledge of how to create a scalable company. They also understand what it is like to operate a company inside the European Union, where regulations are very different than other parts of the world. We will accelerate in Spring 2013. But we can already see that the Alumni program afterwards is going to be essential to help build a framework for the future."

Note that this accelerator is a full-time, intensive program. It often involves working late into the night and weekends. Be prepared to put your social life on hold! Don't even think of combining it with a job or studies.
