Our Grand Prize winner was The Eye Tribe! -a Copenhagen-based startup that allows users to control screens with their eyes. In total they won over €36 000 in cash and donated prizes. The team had to run off to catch a flight home immediately after receiving the award, but hopefully they were able to get the donated bottle of 1974 Dom Perignon Champagne on the plane.

GetBulb, the startup that allows media organisations to rapidly produce data visualisations for high resolution print, and for interactive online graphics, has been named Winner of The Irish Times Digital Challenge. It won the €50,000 convertible loan note from DFJ Esprit at the Grand Finale event last Friday at The Workman’s Club, on Dublin’s Wellington Quay. Another Irish startup, Clevermiles says its dongle – which can be fitted to any car manufactured this century – has several purposes. The dongle transmits driving data back to a user – allowing them to analyse their behaviour for fuel efficiency. Parents could also fit it to their kids’ cars for a bit of extra peace of mind when they’re learning how to drive for the first time. There’s a social aspect too – users can upload their data to the web and compare it against others to figure out who is the best driver in the world.

About Startupbootcamp

Startupbootcamp is the global accelerator for startups with a mentor and alumni network from more than 30 countries across the world. Startupbootcamp runs accelerator programs in Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Dublin, Eindhoven and Haifa. Each program selects 10 startups from 500 global applicants.
