Why should we join Startupbootcamp?
Even the best startup teams with the best ideas develop faster if they have access to the right mentoring, network and funding opportunities. If you want to get a head start Startupbootcamp is the most prominent place to go in Europe.
What does it take to get accepted to Startupbootcamp?
We think the team is 90% of the equation and the idea 10%. Ideas (products, business models, etc.) can and will change – that’s the point of the program. Regarding the team we focus on track record, integrity, motivation, and potential. Here’s an additional 5 tips to increase your chances of acceptance.
What is the selection process?
We have super simple and efficient application process starting with an online application. The first screening will based on this application and possibly a phone interview. The second screening will take place through a more thorough face to face interview. We will not accept any teams with whom we haven’t met or at least spoken with.
Who can apply?
We welcome participants with any background, experience, nationality and age. The typical profile, however, is probably 25 to 35 years old and some level of work experience. You don’t have to have to have hands-on startup experience but we’re going to look at your track record (whether it’s academic, professional or other) and will assess your potential.
Do you accept one-person teams?
That’s very unlikely. We don’t think one person can make the kind of progress we expect in 3 months. Ideally a team is two to three people with complementary skills (i.e. a “techie” and a “sales guy”).
When does Startupbootcamp run?
The programme runs at different times in each of the Startupbootcamp cities (Madrid, Copenhagen, Dublin, and soon Berlin and London). See the full schedule here.
Where is Startupbootcamp taking place?
In 2011 Startupbootcamp is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark and Madrid, Spain. In 2012, we are adding Berlin, Germany and London, UK to our accelerator network. We are located in the heart of each city in a great open space incubator environment.
Do we have to be in the city we apply to for the duration of the program?
Yes. A great deal of the value of the programme comes from access to the mentors and this interaction will take place at the Startupbootcamp facilities in the respective cities. We’ve been asked about exceptions for various reasons and the short answer is that we expect our startup teams to be 100% focused on the programme but we can show some flexibility for truly amazing teams.
Do we have to incorporate and/or launch our startup in Denmark or Spain?
No. We know full well that startups these days can be headquartered in one country, run development in another and have customers in a third. We’ll help you do what makes sense for you, your company and your customers.
Who is behind the program?
Startupbootcamp is an initiative from Alex Farcet of Rainmaking and Luis Rivera of Tetuan Valley. Both Rainmaking and Tetuan Valley are dedicated to achieve greatness, grow as entrepreneurs, and help like-minded people do the same.
