Richard Simpson
Managing Director - Energy

Richard has an extensive background in innovation with Australian corporates and the startup community. When he was not riding one of his multiple bikes (you can never have too many) Richard managed three Startups in Fintech, Proptech and export sectors. His strong connections with corporate Australia have included executive roles in leading ASX and private companies in strategy, innovation, and technology roles. Whilst running a corporate incubator Richard first started working with SBC as a mentor on one of the first EnergyNext programs several years ago whilst looking into investable opportunities in solar installations and renewable energy, which has led to his current role in running the program.

Richard Celm
Executive Program Director - Startupbootcamp Australia

Richard Celm is the cofounder and Executive Program Director at SBC Australia. He has been active in the start-up community as a founder, investor and mentor since 2001, when he invested and took an active role in eatfresh.com. Having mentored in Startupbootcamp programs in Denmark, London, Barcelona and the University of Cambridge Queen's Young Leaders Programme, his expertise lies in building, promoting and supporting start-up founders, using experience gained working in Australia, Europe and the United States of America. Since returning to Australia in 2014, Mr. Celm has also played a strategic role in accelerating the development of the Tasmanian start-up scene, working with the local start-up community, university and government as an adviser.

During this meet we discuss your goals, what you wish to get out of the accelerator, how your company would benefit from the collaboration, and your fit with our network.
Due Diligence
At this stage we run a ‘light’ due diligence process to understand your current stage concerning tech, infrastructure, finance, market, and team. 
Selection Week
In this event, you will pitch and meet our stakeholders. Based on ratings from the multiple jury rooms, we will select the companies joining the accelerator.
